What is BIWAKO FOOD?

Ever since its founding in 1945, Biwako Food’s credo has been to deliver high-quality and reasonably priced Omi Beef. The most important part of this is our judgment. For more than 50 years, beginning with the former president, we have accumulated experience and delivered good results.
We opened a new factory in May 2019 and plan to get it HACCP certified. We have raised the level of our hygiene management, starting with air curtains and adding equipment that passes stricter hygiene standards.
The secondary processing room at the new factory greatly reduces the amount of time our customers will need to spend on processing, including pulling out tendons, slicing, etc.
We believe that our mission is to leave to future generations the Omi Beef brand inherited from our predecessors.

About the Meat Wholesaling Business

Biwako Food doesn’t work with certain producers exclusively. We visit the market daily and choose the very best beef that day regardless of price. There are times when we lose money on the purchase, but there is nothing more important than making our customers happy by supplying them with the best possible beef.
There is a limited supply of brand beef and a limited number of distributors, but because of corporate efforts and our collaboration with the meat market, it is possible for us to secure our required quantities of beef.
Of the companies headquartered in Shiga Prefecture, we have the most wholesalers, which means you can be confident of a stable supply. Also, because we secure distribution routes for all 15 parts of meat, we purchase aggressively to make sure there isn’t a surplus. We are more than happy to supply restaurants, supermarkets, and department stores with partial orders.
